These are some of our recent projects
Geoff Rogers has turned his love of the high country into a business. His Kirwee-based company, High Country Fencing, works on the sort of steep and challenging hill country other fencing contractors might shy away from, he says.“I saw an opportunity to get into this kind of work when I set up the business 15 years ago. There aren’t a lot of other guys who want to take on these harder jobs…

GEOFF ROGERS LIKES A GOOD FENCING CHALLENGE
“Their business, High Country Fencing has been handling differcult fencing jobs in the Canterbury high country for more than 15 years….”
North Canterbury FISH & GAME
We used High Country Fencing to complete a fencing project at Craigieburn Station in the Upper Waimakariri. Geoff was really helpful in the planning stage and very patient when presented with lots of changes to the fencing plan. The fence was on challenging terrain and needed to cross a wetland and, in one area, go out into a lake that freezes over in winter.
These challenges were not a problem for the company and we are very happy with the result. We would definitely use High Country Fencing again.
North Canterbury FISH & GAME
We have employed the services of High Country Fencing LTD for approximately 8 years on our Dairy Farms.
Our requirements have involved Fencing around centre pivots, new and maintenance work, post and rail for
underpasses and building Calf Sheds.
The work carried out at our Farms has always been to a high standard of workmanship and completed in a
professional efficient manner.
We have no hesitation in recommending the services of High Country Fencing LTD
In the winter and spring of 2010 Geoff Rogers and his company High Country Fencing completed the fencing required as part of the tenure review of Barrosa. We subsequently employed them to complete some hill fencing and some deer fencing on the flats. The wooden post and steel fencing on the hill was carried out at an impressive pace, with a high degree of skill, leaving a very tidy fence. Where they were able to drive posts with their bulldozer mounted post-driver on steep slopes in winter was impressive.
At all times the fencing crew were approachable on the job, and amendable to changes in line or distance. There was always consultation on floodgate construction and layout of gateways.
Geoff’s experience with helicopters made for very efficient use of helicopter time in flying gear out onto the line. The 0pportunity was offered regularly to inspect work in progress and at completion, and any minor changes made.
Prices for our fencing were related to the tenure review contract and very competitive.
I am pleased to recommend Geoff Rogers and High Country Fencing for hill country and flats fencing, post and waratah sheep fence and deer fence.
Barrosa Station LTD.
Castle Hill Station
Geoff Rogers and his experienced team from High Country Fencing have been undertaking fencing work at Castle Hill Station for the last 8 years. We have always found High Country Fencing to be scrupulous in their dealing with us, complete all jobs in an efficient manner, on budget and to a very high standard.
The fencing work that has been completed, ranges from deer fencing on perilous steep faces that required nerves of steel, to ten’s of kilometres of road fencing on the flats. It is always a pleasure to have Geoff and his team at Castle Hill Station.
Castle Hill Ltd
We recently contracted Geoff Rogers of High Country Fencing to erect a 2.7km fence at Winding Creek near Lake Pearson. Geoff was excellent to deal with and nothing was a problem. The job was completed on time and to a high standard. Once the contract was let High Country Fencing purchased all the materials, transported them to the site and erected the fence for a reasonable cost without hassles or taking any of my time. The final invoice was for the amount quoted without additional charges for extras.
High Country Fencing has good range of equipment and experienced staff who can work with minimal supervision.
Geoff also did some extra non fencing jobs such as installing a culvert and creating a stream crossing which saved us the cost of bringing in an excavator or earth works contractor. (which could have been a significant cost in such a remote location)
I would have no hesitation in recommending High Country Fencing for any fencing project the company decides to tender for.

Geoff Rogers has completed a number of fencing projects for the Department of Conservation. We have found Geoff excellent to work with and the fencing has been to be a very high standard. We will continue to offer Geoff opportunities to undertake fencing contracts for us as we know we will get good results. I am happy to further discuss Geoff’s work at any time.
